The Dräger X-plore 8500 (R59500) is a robust powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) designed for demanding industrial environments. It provides filtered breathing air with no breathing resistance and can protect against particles, gases, vapours, or combinations thereof when fitted with the appropriate approved filter and respiratory headpiece. Its IP65-rated construction helps protect the unit against dust ingress and water jets.

Key Features:

• Intelligent electronics automatically identify the connected headpiece and adjust the minimum airflow accordingly.
• Three selectable airflow levels: 115 / 130 / 145 L/min for half and full-face masks, and 170 / 190 / 210 L/min for hoods, helmets and visors.
• Lithium-ion battery technology, with typical operating times of 4–8 hours using the standard battery or 8–20 hours using the high-capacity battery, depending on the configuration. Battery not included.
• Visual, audible and vibration alarms provide clear warnings during operation.
• IP65 protection rating: dust-tight and resistant to water jets from all directions.
• Approximate weight of 1.4 kg, including the standard battery and splash guard.
• Modular system designed for straightforward cleaning, maintenance and component replacement.

Regulations and Approvals:

• EN 12941: TH3 classification when used with approved Dräger X-plore 8000 hoods, helmets, visors and welding visors.
• EN 12942: TM2 classification when used with the Dräger X-plore 4740 half-mask.
• EN 12942: TM3 classification when used with approved Dräger X-plore 6000 or Dräger FPS 7000 full-face masks.
• IP65 ingress protection rating.
• System approvals are also available under AS/NZS 1716:2012 and NIOSH 42 CFR 84, subject to the specific configuration and market.
